Papers of a journalist and news commentator for radio and television best known for his award-winning ABC news program "Edward P. Morgan and the News." Correspondence includes fan mail and letters from many prominent individuals which are of both personal and professional interest. Further documenting Morgan's career are notes and drafts of his book "Clearing the Air"; copies of his "Newsday" column "The Shape of the News"; and stories and related research for "Collier's," United Press, the "Chicago Daily News," and other journals and magazines. There are also several diaries which primarily relate to his coverage of World War II; many research files and notes; and other miscellaneous personal and biographical items.
